Living your best life is no one’s definition but your own. It is what you make it. For me, it is all about balance. Living your best life is about pursuing your dreams, living healthier, finding purpose and meaning in your life. My mantra for 2019 is “do what makes you oh so happy.” And I am happy, living my best life.
On the healthy side:
1. Eat citrus - Did you know the vitamin C from citrus fruits helps with dry skin and keeps wrinkles at bay. Try grapefruit, oranges, and clementines
2. Make veggies the most significant portion on your plate - Saute’ onions, peppers, and mushrooms, and toss them in spinach or arugula salad.
3. Take the stairs - To get in some cardio, take the stairs. Walk up the stairs to your office for 10 minutes. This will guarantee an energy burst and burn calories.
4. Try Yoga - This is one item I am planning to add to my exercise mix next month. Yoga helps your mind and strength. Yoga also affects arousal, desire, and satisfaction.
5. Try just fitness move - One move that I use to get in additional cardio is throwing an 8 lb medicine ball. I would throw it up coming from a slight squat. I love this.
6. Switch your routine - Research shows that people who worked out in multiple ways were less likely to quit.
On the happy side:
1. Do one thing at a time - Multitasking is great sometimes, but do not let it stress you out. Organize your activities into time segments and focus on that one task.
2. Get a plant - Plants lower stress levels. Caring for. Plants calm the nervous system and lowers blood pressure.
3. Add scents to your space - Certain aromas can affect your moods. Add a scent that makes you more relaxed and joyful. Or add a fragrance that will boost your energy help ease your stress.
4. Plan to vacation - Research shows that women who take a getaway with their friends have lower heart attack risk. Just thinking about a vacation can boost your happiness. This year I am planning my road trip. I am so looking forward to it.
5. Treat yourself - Take a long lunch hour, or leave the office early, to get a pedicure or a facial. Yes!!! Pamper yourself.
6. SLEEP - When you get sufficient sleep you are ready to take on the world and is prepared for any challenge you face. Getting enough sleep also plays a definite part in your love life.
