I never wanted to be a man ...

On the last day of Women’s History Month, I want to ask you, what is your superpower? We were asked that question at work, and I answered “being a woman.”

Women have so much depth and substance with our emotions and insight. But, at the same time, because we are able to connect on a deeper level, we can understand what the other is feeling and thinking without even saying a word.

Below are just a few reasons why being a woman is a truly fantastic thing.

We can shape-shift into different identities with ease. We are mothers, we are friends, we are teammates, we are bosses, and we are CEOs. We are able to wear whichever hat is needed of us at the time. We are like chameleons who know how to behave in every single situation. We can move into any role that requires taking and own it. And if there is not a straight path leading us to our destination, we will create our own damn way. The power to shape-shift gives us a softness, a sensuality that adds passion to everything we do.

We make better managers.

We are better at multi-tasking.

We tend to live longer.

We communicate better.

Our bonds of sisterhood are unbreakable

Our emotional intelligence is stronger and more developed - we can see through the BS.

We can keep our balance, all while walking in stiletto heels.

We can move on with our lives when something wrong happens. Nothing can keep us down for long. And if we hit rock bottom, we pick ourselves right back up again.

We can speak in a normal tone and still be heard. We can stand perfectly still and manage to get things done. We can influence rather than provoke, and we can inspire rather than challenge.

And last, but certainly not least, we have the power to create human life.

As for me…. I take to heart that being a woman IS my superpower. I know what I am capable of. I am strong, confident, and I am fabulous.
